So then I installed the 2019-03 MSU and rebooted. It was still shown as installed, so I ununstalled again and rebooted. OK, so I first uninstalled the existing KB4474419 from the "Installed updates" list, then rebooted. I'm not yet ready to upgrade to W10, so I would at least like to get W7 as fully updated as it can be. If anyone can tell me how I can fix the SHA2 handling, that would be wonderful. It also contains SFCfix.txt (showing no errors) and WindowsUpdate.log (trimmed to start after the initial reboot). I have followed the instructions here exactly, following a fresh reboot, and have attached a CBS.zip. Yesterday I also tried manually installing KB4516655 without success. But I still have three repeated failures for KB4516065, KB4524752 and KB4535102. Interestingly, earlier today it did successfully install two updates for Office 2010 and the Malicious Software Removal Tool for Feb 2020. However, despite that, I still can't do the pending updates, as they all continue to fail with 0x80092004, suggesting the SHA2 handling is still not working. Having researched that, I managed successfully to install KB4474419 and KB4490628, in order to enable SHA2 handling. However, updates later than around August were not installed, due to error 0x80092004. Having researched online, I renamed the SoftwareDistribution folder, rebooted and re-ran Windows Update. A few weeks ago I discovered that my Win7Pro laptop had not been doing updates for several months, due to errors, which appeared to be due to a corrupted SoftwareDistribution folder.
